I am a Licensed Midwife serving San Angelo and the surrounding area. My desire is to blend skill and knowledge with the hands on care of the midwifery model. I offer complete maternity care to low risk women, from pre-conception counseling through the first 6-8 weeks postpartum. I strive to provide completely individualized care based on your needs and desires.
I love educating mothers in the wonderful design of their bodies to grow and birth a baby. God has done an incredibly awesome job in the creation of the female body to nurture a new life and bring it forth in such wonder. I have great faith that the God who divinely designed your body is perfectly able to complete the work which He has begun in you ~ birthing the new life He has fashioned and shaped within you.
It is my privilege to be a part of this exciting time in the lives of the women who come to me for care. My desire is to help you experience the most incredible journey of your life as you love and nurture your growing baby. It is an honor to serve women during this miraculous time of life and I look forward to working with those God brings into my practice.
On a more personal note,
I have been married to Robert for 28 years and am the homeschooling
mother of 6 children ranging in age from 27-12. In 2012 I became "Gigi"
to two precious granddaughters! My own birth
experiences weren’t great, and I began to look for better
options for my daughters. I discovered midwifery care in 1992 when a
friend had her baby at home and I was sold on it from that moment on. I
attended as many births as I could in the following years, but
didn’t formally begin to study midwifery until 2006.
In 2006 I enrolled in the Association of Texas Midwives – Midwifery Training Program and began a journey that took me around the state of Texas as I apprenticed with 3 different midwives and completed the academic portion of the program. I spent 2 years studying with midwives in the West Texas area, and 15 months in the Ft. Worth area at a thriving birth center. My opportunities as an apprentice were widely varied and I had some of the best teachers around.
Now I am back in San Angelo, TX as a Licensed Midwife and have the privilege of serving the Moms in the Concho Valley area who haven’t had the choice of a local midwife who does homebirths for many years. I’m excited to see what God has in store for me and my practice!
Whatever your choice for birth, I pray you have a blessed one!
